CASA of Lewis and Clark & Broadwater Counties has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Occurring this year on December 1, #GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday to kick-off the holiday giving season and inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Our #GivingTuesday campaign will focus on our Childrens Needs Fund. For several years CASA has chosen a family in need of help for Christmas. However this year there are so many children in care and so many families that need help. This year we are asking for the community to help us purchase gift cards so that families can get food, necessities and a toy or two for their children. Any amount helps in every way and we will appreciate any donations! CASA is serving over 200 children in foster care and/or kinship care due to child abuse and neglect. This is the highest case load of children CASA has seen in our 19 years of advocating here in Helena. The majority of our children are coming from drug addicted parents.
Please know that donated funds will be given to the child’s appointed CASA to shop for or with the child in foster care.
